
What powers does the LINk have
The LINk can:
- Raise issues with the Local NHS and Local Authority - asking health and social care commissioners and providors for information about services and the LINK can expect a response within 20 days
- Refer issues and concerns to the Health and Community Care and Housing Select Committee for them to scrutinise
- Refer issues and concerns to the Care Quality Commission - the national body responsible for inspecting all Health and Social Care Services
- Enter specific services and view the care provided to get more information about an issue raised in relation to that service. Services examined in this way could include hopsital wards, GP surgeries, Care Homes
Enter and View visits will be carries out by participants who have been trained and had a Criminal Records bureau (CRB) check, the visits will almost always be planned with the person responsible for the service beforehand

The LINk Cannot:
- Raise issues and concerns about childrens Social Care
- Support people to raise a specific, individual complaint with Health and/or Social Care
If you have an individual complaint about Health and/or Social Care Services the LINk would signpost you to either the relevant Patient Advice and Liaison or Complaints Service
